Water service is provided to the city's residents by a city owned and operated water works. Water bills are sent every month and can be paid by sending payment to City of Marquette Heights, by paying at the City Hall, automatic debit or by paying online. The phone number is 382-3455 and the hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Pay by the last day of the month to avoid disconnection on the first (1st) of every month.

Plumbing Problems? 

If you have plumbing problems, please call the City Office at 382-3455 and request the utility service at your residence be shut off while repairs are being made.

Please allow 24 hours notice for disruptions in service for repair. 

For emergency water problems after       5:00 PM please call 382-3404.

Pay by the last day of the month to avoid disconnection on the first (1st) of every month.
Leak Suspected?
​Locate water meter and write down the number it shows.
Check meter number again.....
    If it has not changed then no leak
            If it has changed then proceed to next steps
  •  Check outside faucets, run fingers under faucet to see if moisture present and check the under the faucet to see if ground is damp
  • Put dye (food color) in back of toilet (tank),do not use for 1/2hr to 45 minutes. After that time, check to see if color is coming up in the toilet bowl. If it is, then check the flapper for wear and/or make sure it is seating properly, check if chain is getting caught under flapper, replace guts, etc.
  • Check floor and walls around washer hook-ups, tub and sink  faucets and drains for moisture.
  • Check faucets to make sure not leaking
  • Check crawl spaces for moisture.
  • If you have floor heat or broiler, shut off the supply to those pipes in floor and see if usage on meter stops. If it does, then one of the pipes in your may be leaking

    -Two forms of I.D. , one which must have a photo
